Evaporator

The following four presentations on black liquor evaporation are being made available to kraft mills in Georgia as part of the State of Georgia TIP3 program (the project is “Black Liquor Evaporator Monograph"). Below are links to four power point presentations with the presenters talking through the slides. The presentations are designed to contain some essential information for understanding evaporator operation and performance. Our expectation is that they can be valuable to both process engineers with evaporator experience and those individuals who are newly assigned to the evaporation plant. The presenters will be available Thursday Jan 31st for a conference call from 1-2 pm and then again on Monday February 4th from 3-4 pm (Dave Clay will not be available during this second call). These calls are intended to give you the opportunity to ask questions about the material in the presentations or your evaporators. Please email Marian Pena at IPST (marian.pena@ipst.gatech.edu) to let her know which day you would like to call in and she will email you a phone number and an access code. This information will also be made available on this website the day of the call. Additionally, if you have questions you can email Nikolai DeMartini at (nikolai.demartini@ipst.gatech.edu). Finally, after viewing the presentations, please download the evaluation form, fill it out and email it to Nikolai.

The final deliverable will be a black liquor evaporator monograph covering a range of topics related to operation of the evaporation plant. This will be made available to mills in an electronic format upon completion. You can download the table of contents below.

We hope you find these presentations useful!
