Rules
and Regulations
- The event is open to colleges, univerisities, trade schools and other post-secondary educational institutions in North America.
- Each participant must be registered, by filling out all required forms,
including providing proof of enrollment, by the college registrar.
- Each team must be supervised by a faculty project advisor. This advisor
can be appointed by the college, but must be an employee of the home
institution.
- Energy Challenge will pay airfare and hotel accommodations for three
student members and one faculty project advisor to travel to the bench
scale competition in Atlanta, Georgia .
- All participants and faculty project advisors must read and discuss
the US Department of Energy’s Agenda 2020, and the Energy Challenge
Request for Proposal. All required documents, i.e., the proposal, mid-project
and final reports, and the video will be produced with this publication
in mind.
- All teams must follow the prescribed format for report writing and
submission. All deadlines must be adhered to.
- Any team that withdraws from the competition must return the $2,000
start up grant at time of withdrawal.
- Questions submitted regarding product allowable materials and/or chemicals,
design and production must be put in writing and submitted to the Energy
Challenge office. They will be answered in the newsletter for the benefit
of all participants.
- All teams must obtain a list of allowable chemicals through Peterson's Publishing Chemical Buyer's Guide.
- All products must meet the specifications and follow procedural directions
as prescribed by the Principal Investigator and Review Committee in
the competition procedures.
- All questions regarding the contest rules, regulations and procedures
must be directed to Project Manager, Manufacturing Design Competition
Coordinator of the Energy Challenge Program. All questions will be answered
in the newsletter online at www.ipst.edu/energy_challenge.
- All teams accept and agree to the rules and regulations of this
competition by registering.
