CSREES NRI Grant Recipient Receives Fulbright Award

Dr. Art J. Ragauskas, Professor of Chemistry and Biochemistry at the Georgia Institute of Technology, has been selected as a Fulbright Scholar to Sweden to build stronger collaborations in the area sustainable bioenergy production. Dr. Ragauskas is a Fellow of the International Academy of Wood Science and the Technical Association of the Pulp and Paper Industry. Through support from the NRI Biobased Products and Bioenergy Production Research Program, Dr. Ragauskas has advanced our scientific knowledge and ability to develop innovative processes for the conversion of lignocellulosic biomass into novel biomaterials and fuels. The prestigious Fulbright Program was established more than sixty years ago to increase mutual understanding between the people of the United States and the people of over 150 countries that participate in the Program.
