Ragauskas Honored with Fulbright

Fulbright Distinguished Chair in Alternative Energy Technology/TAPPI News

Arthur J. Ragauskas, a TAPPI Fellow and a professor in the School of Chemistry and Biochemistry at IPST at Georgia Tech, has been honored with the Fulbright Distinguished Chair in Alternative Energy Technology, in recognition of his work on sustainable science in the forest products industry.

Ragauskas played a key role in developing the Process Chemistry group at IPST into an internationally recognized teaching and research center. He is a frequent presenter at industry conferences and symposia, and is active in TAPPI’s bleaching and recycling subcommittees.

Founded in 1946, the Fulbright Program is a series of grants and awards for students, professors, and other professionals that “aims to increase mutual understanding between the peoples of the United States and other countries, through the exchange of persons, knowledge, and skills.” TAPPI congratulates Dr. Ragauskas on this outstanding achievement!
