Institute of Paper Science and Technology Welcomes New Trustees


Atlanta, Georgia -December 5, 2000 - Throughout its 70-year history, the Institute of Paper Science and Technology (IPST) has been privileged to have the participation of the pulp and paper industry's greatest leaders on its Board of Trustees. At a recent Board meeting on December 1, 2000, the Board of Trustees welcomed the following new members: Mr. William A. Finn and Mr. Mike Goodrich.

Mr. Marvin Pomerantz, Vice Chairman of the IPST Board of Trustees and Chairman and CEO of Gaylord Container Corporation, welcomed these gentlemen to the Board. Further, Mr. Pomerantz extended thanks to Mr. Francis McKone, Chairman of the Board and CEO of Albany International Corporation, for his many years of dedication and support as an IPST Board Member. He has been a devoted Trustee and has provided strong leadership during his years of service to the Institute.



Since 1999, Mr. William A. Finn has served as the Chairman and CEO of AstenJohnson, Inc., a company that resulted from the merger of Asten, Inc. and JWI Ltd. that same year. Mr. Finn joined Asten, Inc. in 1972, was named President and CEO in 1984, and assumed the additional responsibility of Chairman in 1994. AstenJohnson is a manufacturer of paper machine clothing, specialty fabrics, filaments, and drainage equipment for the pulp and paper industry.



Mr. Mike Goodrich is President and CEO of BE&K, Inc. BE&K is a world-wide engineering, construction, and maintenance firm performing projects for diverse manufacturing and process industries. He joined BE&K as Assistant Secretary and General Counsel in 1972. During his career with BE&K, he served in the legal and marketing department. He was named President in 1989 and CEO in 1995.
