This Distinguished Lecture Series (DLS) event
will take
place on February
27, 2004 -- where Dr. Richard B. Phillips, Senior
Vice President - Technology for International Paper
will speak on "Imperatives for Manufacturing
Success in the Paper Industry" from
11:00-12:30 pm EST.
Dr. Phillips states, “Emerging trends are challenging
the U.S. paper industry’s global leadership in paper
and board production. The industry can revitalize itself
though better trade policy, marketing, branding, enhanced
cost competitiveness, and other strategies.” His lecture
will focus on the top 10 imperatives that he believes are
vital for the industry to successfully compete against other
media and other nations.
As always the Distinguished Lecture Series is offered live
in the Institute of Paper Science and Technology’s
